Baratza Sette 270

Pros

• Encore simply couldn’t grind fine enough for espresso. I tried and choked the machine. I bought the Sette 270 but kept the Encore for pour-over coffee
• the Sette 270 (a hopper-fed grinder that can be modded to single dosing and has low retention)
• You can also look at other grinders like the Sette 270 (fantastic grinder, the only complaint people usually have with it is it can be loud)
• I was using Sette 270 previously. It was a good grinder but it seems no longer popular now.
• based on what I've heard, it seems to me that the Sette 270 would be a much better grinder for espresso only.

Cons

• I'd prefer low noise (my main objection to the Sette) -- ideally, quiet enough that my wife and I can use in the apt while the other is asleep
• this is unacceptable.... the Sette 270 is definitely a non-go!
• I have the Sette 270, but only used it for about 1 year. However, I do remember reading a lot of complaints about the plastic gear failing, causing Baratza to change something to alleviate the problem.
• I am thinking sette 270 - but want to go for something that is less noisy.
• I looked at the Sette 270 but the reviews were mixed
