Pros

  • Bansko in Bulgaria is nice too and fairly cheaper than Sofia.
  • Then you could relocate over to Bansko for some variety for a couple of weeks
  • Was in Bansko last winter. Pretty decent resort, we enjoyed it.
  • Bansko is great, was there for just a couple of days in summer but would love to go back.
  • Bansko in Bulgaria. Great community and very unique in the nomad world to have such a small town close to stunning nature but thats still international and vibrant.

Cons

  • Agree with this. Nice resort but the gondola queue was awful!
  • Bansko is fun and inexpensive but that gondola queue is horrific unless you get a 'vip?' pass which cuts wait down to less than 10 minutes.
  • Parent context: Yeah, Bansko seems to fit the criteria although will get very calm and a bit rainy from October on. Reply: Bansko Is very touristic, Bulgaria has better places, any small town is awesome i think.

I recently visited Bansko, Bulgaria, and really enjoyed their long, lazy slope (around 8 kilometers). It was perfect for a relaxed ride and taking in the scenery.

Also, if you are starting DN and want wonderful experience, I would really suggest Bansko (Bulgaria) - very small mountain city but superb DN community with good and cheap accomodation or coliving options, superb coworkings and organized non-work activities also... Just google it. I was there during 2021 and it was wonderful experience.
