Pros

  • I love B&M and a few other artisans, but to me the Otter reigns supreme.
  • I have also tried B&M, Soap Commander, 345, Stirling, and Rex supply
  • Nah, I get fantastic lathers with Stirling, B&M and A&E, but PAA is just different.
  • I was excited to try that one with how many folks love B&M. I completely understand why now. Smells great and performs so well!
  • B&M is the only brand I use and all these scents are new to me... I'm a lucky man.

Cons

  • Parent context: I would not consider Stirling, B&M, A&E, or ToBS to be "artisans" at this point. They're the big names. Hell, Henri et Victoria is verging on no longer being an artisan maker, in my eyes. Reply: Second B&M being thirsty:...
  • B&M are hit and miss for me.
  • I just received two B&M based on reviews here but wow. These scents are bad. Seville smells like Ajax powder and Leviathan smells like chewing tobacco spit in a old coffee cup. Neither are pleasant scents.
  • I prefer the NO barbershop scent to the BM one, having owned and used both.
  • In shave it is better than B&M by a significant margin with b&m thinned to the same point I would have had to go back for more soap but this was solid

Reply: Second B&M being thirsty: I just used it yesterday, and the lather drank the little puddle I had in the jar and still didn't splash with the knot only being a little squeezed out. Did give me a nice lather though.

B&M- many consider it one of the gold standards. Amazing lather, many nice scents, but I would recommend a sampler or to smell in person as some can be a bit of an odd combination
