Reddit take

Not enough linked mention summaries yet; the source excerpts below are the evidence.

Pros

  • management overhead should be minimal additional if you have a modern Autopilot / Intune setup.
  • Zero touch provisioning with Autopilot works just as well on Windows as Apple ADE/Jamf does on Macs.
  • If you are planning to replace machines, then look at configuring AutoPilot to do a lot of the work for you.
  • A well configured Autopilot config even more so.
  • The latest way is intune and autopilot from dell.

Cons

  • Current advice is to deploy vanilla Windows 11 and use Autopilot/Intune/GPO/RMM to install apps and set settings.
  • I have only had autopilot on rentals. But it was not nearly as good as my id.4. Neither did any lane change etc. but auto pilot required my intervention much more.

If you can, I'd recommend going full Intune and Autopilot for management and deployment, and milk those M365 licenses for all they're worth.

Been doing the same thing (minus the "hands off wheel") with Autopilot for 6 years, now. I just rest the weight of my arm on the wheel, and cruise until my exit.

I also recommend reading “Autopilot” on r/nosleep about a parent who leaves their baby in the car.
