Pros

• Purifiers that actually work for VOCs cost much more. For example, Austin Air HealthMate.
• You need a unit with a lot of activated carbon. An Austin Air HealthMate would be the most suitable.
• I use the Austin air healthmate - Hannah gardener at green slate community (Facebook) gets me around a 20% discount on MSRP. They work well for my home.
• The best answer is something like an Austin Air Healthmate, which has many pounds of carbon, but they are very expensive.
• Austin Air HealthMate has 15 lbs as well as zeolite I haven't seen it in person but I don't think it's too big. Filters are rated for 5 years but idk if that's for 24 hours a day. It's also metal which is nice.

Cons

• I'm trying to decide between the Healthmate from Austin Air or the Terrabloom DIY situation. Any recommendations? Have people had luck with the Healthmate Plus for secondhand smoke?
• I’m considering either the Austin Air HealthMate or IQAir multigas to put in my toddlers bedroom and one in the common room.
• I've read at least two comments saying that high-carbon units (eg Austin Air Healthmate) showed little or no VOC reduction, even measured directly next to the unit output vent.
