Edition XS and AR5000 would go up, because both have the best bass, and you generally can't EQ bass, at least not without distortion. Both need midrange and treble fixing, which is where EQ comes in.

Using plastic at a point that is constantly under stress does seem more like a design flaw while cutting corners.
They sound so good for the price, but I can't ever recommend them because of the QC.
As someone who has owned the AR5000s and had the same exact QC issue happen to mine, I've never heard anything bad about their other products. I've personally owned a few of their amps and dacs and would recommend them. This particular product seems to be the odd man out. Which is unfortunate because they sound fantastic, especially for the price.
Hard to recommend with such bad quality parts though.
If you want a wide soundstage then maybe try Aune AR5000 or Verum One.
Aune AR5000 would be the best in that price range if gaming is your main focus, good build quality too.
