Audyssey Dynamic EQ

Pros

• There is indeed a new setting under Dynamic EQ with the choice of Off/Light/Medium/Heavy for the surround boost. Default is Heavy. Off seemed to work as you’d hope.
• Parent context: I have Dynamic EQ on but does Dynamic Volume dull everything down? Its labeled as night listening so I figured that meant everything gets quieter or less punchy Reply: Same! Each speaker really livens up for me. Anyone...
• I keep this on at all times. Everything just sound better unless you’re listening to music
• the dynamic eq is nicely improving bass for speakers and compensating rears.

Cons

• Dynamic EQ has many advantages, boosting lower frequencies is necessary to keep the sound accurate below reference levels. Is just that it’s tied to Surround Level Compensation, which is implemented wrong and Audyssey should stop being s...
• Really hope there is an option to completely stop the boosting of surround/ rear atmos speakers as it's the only reason I stopped using it.
• Unnatural, I mean with Dynamic EQ on at 0dB and Dynamic Volume, it is too much boosted, making the overall mix much stranger than without it.
• As for Dynamic EQ in general, I like it a lot but find that it boosts the surround channels in addition to applying the EQ adjustment, which I don't really like at my listening levels.
• In the end, I found no good match between what the auto system does and my wants/desires. Add in some tease factor, this healthy amount of bass when quiet ending up being the same amount of bass when 'jamming' flying in the face of my ex...
