Even though I like Rand’s novels, I’d recommend Brave New World. Atlas Shrugged is very long and therefore not really suitable for a book club. Also, Rand is quite controversial, both stylistically and in terms of content.
Atlas Shrugged is NOT a book club book. Ayn Rand's writing is super dated, her characters are flat, and her message is flawed to the max. Nothing screams "my audience are all idiots" like a mid book manifesto in the form of the 90 page speech on morality that is repetitive and built on a foundation of straw men.
That title is the best thing Ayn Rand ever put to paper. Just the title. Not the book.
Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. It opened my eyes to human behavior in a way no other book has.
