Pros

  • Lowkey excited for this

Cons

  • The number one improvement they had to make was make the cities seamlessly accessible, thank god Ubisoft got that right. The second one is improving the ship tailing missions. Only thing i am a bit worried about is the removal of the mod...
  • Its an immediate write off for me if they change the combat to the newer games instead of keeping it how it was
  • Everything sounds promising and what I want from this remake....but I know they'll fuck up somehow
  • I want this to be true but until Ubisoft officially announce it and we see trailers and gameplay it feels pointless to listen to rumours.
  • Parent context: As much as I liked the game back in 2013, I don't like everything I heard about this remake so far. Reply: Opposite for me. Hearing that they've removed the modern sections so it's an entirely standalone historical story...

Parent context: AC4’s story and script are already so good, and is one of the thematically strongest and most coherent in the franchise. I’m worried that a remake will somehow sully or ruin that. Reply: No because that’s a pretty massive retcon that also affects Haytham’s story, character, and lore. It’s why I’m hesitant about the remake in the first place, because AC4’s story and script are already so good, and is one of the thematically strongest and most coherent in the franchise. I’m worried that a remake will somehow sully or ruin that.

I really think this remake will blow in their face. What I don’t understand is why not get all these ideas and innovations to make a straight sequel to Black Flag. Hell, had Edward be the protagonist again. Having it be a remake is just inviting comparisons which will undermine the work the audio is doing to this new game

Please remove the dumb ship stealth missions.
