Pros
- But at least with the arris modem I can call and actually give signal strength and un correctable error count. ... That's interesting, I have no problem getting to the console on my S33, which I got a few months before the UCI came out....
- For the modem I would recommend the Arris S33
- Got an Arris S33 and an ASUS RTAX86U Pro (AX5700). YMMV since this equipment is recommended for higher speed service. I like them since they each have a 2.5 Gbps port. Having a separate modem and router also can provide insight to what i...
- Futureproofing is simply higher speeds for later, which to me would be the S33 unless you are looking for next gen speeds
- My cloud fiber has a 3d printed mount with a shelf on one side to hold my arris s33
Cons
- Cox 1GB plan, going to an Arris S33 then Eero 6+ as the base router
- I have had the S33 for about 2 years now and each model feels as if it fails faster then the last. Tired of having to have them replaced and now looking for a new modem.
- The s33 isn't future proofed at all on xfinity, since it's not certified for mid split.
- The S33 isn't a good choice, because it's not certified for mid split on Xfinity.
