Coming to your original question: places where people have been exceptionally nice to me and I felt the most equal: Myanmar, Iran, smaller towns of Turkey, Armenia, smaller cities of Russia, Bosnia, Albania.
My boyfriend and I have lived in both Armenia and Georgia, people there dress like everyone else in the developed world. There is no particular dress code and no one has once said anything to us about our clothes.
But I wouldn’t travel to Armenia, Kazakhstan or Mongolia whilst pregnant. Distances are large and you may be very far away from a decent clinic or hospital.

Awesome, I wish more people would travel to Armenia. I totally agree about the modern European feel; I was shocked when I stepped foot in Yerevan. A very underrated city. I would highly recommend spending more time there and going to other cities like Dilijan.
I was there just about a year ago. It’s absolutely incredible. Became my favourite trip I’ve been on in quite a long time!
