HiFiman Edition XV played through either the DIY Dynalo amp on the right and the Topping D50 III, or the Apos Gremlin.
I don't know how to suggest what might fix your issue, but here's my signal chain with my Gremlin, and I get zero hum.
I'm currently using the ZH3 with the Apos Gremlin via an XLR connection. I can confirm that when using both Aux mode (volume control via the ZH3) and LO mode, the unit automatically switches to bypass.
The quality for the price is good, as is that of the Gremlin.

I had an issue with my Gremlin as well. Had a weird low level hum throughout the volume nib and if I touched the power adapter it get louder.
I just received a Gremlin headphone amp from Apos. Looked like a good build out the box. ... Went to use it, laptop and iPhone/DAC source and was met with brutal hum. (Like louder than the music hum.).
