Pros

  • finally stopped on AnyType. it's frankly the best for me. graph view and offline availbility of obsidian and database and slash command system of notion.
  • Anytype is similar to Notion and privacy centric. They recently included Excalidraw into the app, so you might be able to use Apple Pencil to draw with Excalidraw on iPad.
  • have you tried anytype.io? it stores your files locally, with on-device encryption.
  • AnyType. Thank me later.
  • I’d suggest people use Anytype instead where everything is local first and end to end encrypted, it’s like Notion with privacy

Cons

  • I’ve tried - Tana - Apple Notes + Reminders - Capacities - Obsidian - Anytype
  • Apparently, Anytype also doesn’t have the best reputation right now.
  • I found Notion and Anytype to be quite complex for my purposes
  • I've tried Notion, Anytype, Capacities, and Logseq. They all fail but I'm different ways.
  • Are you migrating from Capacities or Anytype?

Use an app like Anytype instead where everything is local and end to end encrypted, it’s like the privacy centric version of Notion.

I just move everything to Anytype, everything is end to end encrypted there and stores local first. Works very similar to Notion and I can write about anything I want.

thats what happened when tool is not full offline and relies on cloud 99%, for your use case then obsidian or anytype will be better alternative
