Go to Annecy if you want to see Annecy (and if you have time), though obviously it is going to be a bit grim then compared to photos taken in summer.
I would encourage you to either go to Lyon/Annecy with the Burgundy days, or to the Mediterranean coast (you can do quite a bit and everything is well connected by train) or even to Normandy.
Annecy is beautiful and worth a visit, but I think one full day is plenty.
Maybe just train slowly up from Italy to southern France (Annecy) to Parisian countryside and castles (chenonceau, Chambordt, Versailles, Rouen) on your way to Normandy and eventually Ireland.
