Pros

• Apps such as Kamoot and all trails are really good for finding hikes if you're unsure.

• Apps such as AllTrails make it easy to find footpaths. This is especially helpful for a generation more accustomed to reading from a phone screen than a map.
• They post the AllTrails links which makes it super easy to follow and explain how to get there.
• hike lake louise (little beehive trail on AllTrails map) ... hike Cougar creek and Benchlands ridge trail in Canmore, (Again, AllTrails App)

Cons

• so they ended up starting late, running out of food and water, hiking slow, running out of juice for phone- alltrails, unexpected bivouac…
• All of the hiking was very well signed and there wasn't much need to utilize AllTrails to figure out directions even though we had it available.

• All Trails entire model relies on user supplied data, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that this is occurring. It’s a shit app and there are much better options out there
