Pros

• there are dedicated tobacco units from AllerAir (i.e. the Smoke Eater) and Airpura but they cost $750-$1000+
• I’m sensitive to chemical smells and have 3 airpura purifiers. The housings are made of steel and the huge amount of carbon in them also remove voc’s from the air.
• One other you can look at for your need is going to.be an Airpura or Austin Air. ... The Air Pura you can replace ifferent parts of the filter st the proper intervals like the pre filter, the HEPA, and the carbon, etc
• There are filters that combine both HEPA and absorbent media. Checkout Airpura, Allerair, Austin, IQAir.

Cons

• I've been looking at AllerAir and Airpura models but reviews of them seem to be mixed on here. They also have so many options that it's confusing to choose from.
• I own both Aller air and airpura both with 26 pounds of carbon... Overall, performance has been disappointing. They work better in my bedroom with the door closed, but even then, efficacy is mixed... both are super noisy, I mean way loud...

• The V714 seems to nearly twice as expensive accounting for the Pro 6 and how the Pro 6 Ultra has 32+ lbs of carbon compared to the 18 lbs in the V714. Is there a reason Airpura prices their comparable unit so much more than AllerAir does?
• Seems like brands like iqair/allerair/airpura/Austin are making gross profits off their filters…
