Pros
- The Pokémon games are generally also pretty good, or games like Civ, Against the Storm, ... where you can pause and progress at your own leisure so you actually have time to read, look up words, etc.
- Makes me so happy to see this game be as successful as it is. It's really well made and I'm thrilled they're continuing to update it!
- Personally I love the early-mid game buildup in Against the Storm and absolutely hate the late game slog in most city builders when a city gets massive, so I am glad this game has a very defined endpoint.
- Personally I find it really engaging, with each new city being a different management challenge where you have to figure out how to make do with what you have and complete your objectives before you get overwhelmed by natural forces and...
- Same, it's absolutely one of the best games released in the past few years and one of the best city builders ever.
Cons
- I like northgard, i played it a fair bit before moving on to againat the storm.
- I still liked the game overall, but it felt like it dragged a little because I was constantly pausing to turn things on/off or reallocate the work force because they took a break when I needed to get something done in a hurry. If I wasn'...
- On Switch 1, it performs well until you hit larger settlements, then you start getting a bit of slowdown.
- Literally the only reason I've been waiting on a console port is the *controller* controls which the devs have refused to implement thus far.
- Sadly no Switch 2 version. It could use some increase in resolution and visual fidelity for sure. It runs stable, but doesn’t look too good. It’s still a freaking awesome game, one of the best indies in recent years.

Personally I find it really engaging, with each new city being a different management challenge where you have to figure out how to make do with what you have and complete your objectives before you get overwhelmed by natural forces and it all goes to shit. I think that time pressure really adds a lot too cos you're never just sat idling, you always want to be using your inhabitants ass efficiently as possible so you're constantly reassigning workers and build priorities and stuff to get the most out of them in different situations. It's super addictive and each settlement takes 1-2 hours depending on game speed and difficulty and how much time you spend paused (you can pause to look at stuff and issue orders as much as you like which is also great) and then you go back to the world map, get some meta progression, send out a new expedition, and get to start another one! It also helps that the vibes are totally on point with lovely graphics and sound, and a super well designed UI. Honestly if you have any love for city builders at all I urge you to try it out because it's a beautifully designed game. It's not the kind of roguelike that's constantly fucking you over so you're always losing, the balance is really good and you can choose your difficulty within a certain range, with higher levels giving better rewards.

Had fun with it for a good 100+ hours…maybe it’s time to add another 100.
This game is legit incredible… can’t wait!
Love this game its so addictive.
The runs are quick, so you can really get into the ‘just one more’ mentality and suddenly, 5am.
