The Aerus is a classic old school Electrolux, simple, durable, rugged, timeless and the last vacuum you will ever need to buy. I like the Legacy because it has a more modern hose design and you can use the power nozzle on the end of the hose to clean stairs and beds.

Very little to fail and if something does, parts are easy to find and every shop in North America knows them inside and out because they have been around so long.

It is still in production today as the Aerus Legacy. ... New ones are stupidly expensive but an refurbished old one is every bit as good as new and will probably outlive you.

Aerus is expensive but their two less expensive (relative to their top of the line Guardian Platinum) are true buy it for life vacuums that will be passed to your heirs. I am talking about the Aerus Legacy (my personal fave)

And they still make that same basic machine with a different motor today as the Aerus Legacy. One of the all time great vacuums.

Look at the Aerus Classic and Aerus Legacy too. ... These are traditional old school Electrolux canisters, simple, sturdy, reliable analog designs with no circuit boards or any electronic trickery. Either one will outlive you and be something your heirs fight over when they go through your stuff after you pass.
