WiiM makes great products, but if you like what you are hearing with the Denon, I can see no reason to make any changes.
One of the many things I like about Wiim is that (so far) they dont gimp their software on their lower priced products. Advancements with PEQ and room correction have been added across the line
Once you are there, and have a transparent DAC, and let's say a WIIM as source, you solved 80% of your audio problems.
Also if you upgrade your source to WiiM they have a very good digital EQ. 👍
The frequency response is pretty flat apart from a big bump at 32hz which I’ve addressed with PEQ on my WiiM.

I have the AV 8805 and it's a tank.
Marantz gear definitely lasts a long time - I have had an earlier processor for over 10 years and only had to have its display repaired.
Get a Marantz AV processor like the AV7806 on Accessories4Less, that will get you the 4K and Pre-Amp functionality for 5.1 and it will support Atmos out of the box
