I haven’t used one, but I recently noticed Sujata is the only brand that’s offering 9 yr comprehensive full product warranty. Every other brand is 2 yrs on the glass and 5 yrs on the burners at best. Sujata also has Sabaf valves and forged brass burners.
Sujata all the way
Parent context: Sujata Reply: I second this I have one that has lasted more than 18 years now and just refuses to die.

A vacuum sealer is nice. It keeps the food from freezer burn. It's not necessary if you eat your meat within a month or so.
Get a vacuum sealer. It basically eliminates freezer burn, which is the main reason things have to be thrown away. I also have a small-ish freezer, and the amount of freezer space I save by vacuum sealing is unbelievable.
My number one recommendation is to get a vacuum sealer. Regardless of what you're freezing, you want to eliminate its ability to get freezer burn as much as you can.
can concur -- i hate wasting food and have saved so much money vacuum sealing because things don't go bad. they're pretty inexpensive and i use mine constantly for everything.
If she freezes her meals it would be great, it she doesn't it's a waste of time and money. I have a vacuum sealer and you would probably have to hold me at gunpoint to get me to vacuum seal a meal that would be opened before the end of the week.
