I have the full Sonos setup with dual subs and a Sony Quads that is my favorite.
Otherwise you’ll get 10 different reco’s from people who love their own stuff like me and my Sony Quads and Arc Ultra immersive setup.
I also have the Sony Quads, and I like it better than the Sonos.
If I compare my full Sonos, My Quads and the Samsung 990, my Quads are my favorite, and after 2 years with it, it’s still friggen amazing.
I have a A95L and Sony Quads. I demoed it against the Nak Dragon, and it was better, at least in my room. The new sw9 Subwoofer is a banger as well, and this setup is a great sounding machine.

AI summary — not a quote
The JBL Bar 1300X MK2 is highly regarded by users as a top-tier soundbar system, frequently described as a 'beast' for its powerful, room-shaking bass and crystal-clear dialogue. It is praised for its versatility, particularly the detachable battery-powered rear speakers that allow for a wire-free surround setup or portable music use. While sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, some users suggest the system needs to be played at higher volumes to truly shine and note a potential drop in soundstage quality when the rear speakers are docked.
Pros
- Powerful, room-shaking bass performance from the subwoofer.
- Excellent dialogue clarity and vocal presence.
- Detachable rear speakers offer a truly wireless surround sound experience.
- Strong performance for both cinematic movies and high-quality music playback.
Cons
- Requires higher volume levels to reach its full audio potential.
- Soundstage can feel 'constipated' or restricted when the rear speakers are docked to the main bar.

I have the lg(bad), 930d, 990f, 1300x mk2 . In this order. Every one of them was an upgrade. I didn’t expect to see much difference between the 990 and 1300. But it was like when I upgraded from the 930 to the 990. You can listen the difference in the first music.
some reviewers online have been leaning towards the JBL now over the 990 because it does get you closer to that cinema sound for a tiny bit more money.
1300X MK2 12” sub is a significant upgrade for bass frequencies. Feels more realistic, warm, etc.
Not to mention that the 1300X MK2 is my first soundbar from JBL. But it is fantastic! A much needed upgrade from my old Sony A7000 soundbar system.
The JBL is just a lot better for music than the 990 series. 990 is cinematic and has solid Atmos performance but my 1300X MK2 has been a huge upgrade in the music side due to that 12” sub
