I can't recommend the Temazcal enough, that was an incredible experience. We absolutely loved the art teacher Javiera. We took a book binding class which we paired with some champagne and caviar. (caviar was a small upcharge) Dinner on the beach was spectacular, see if they can align it with sunset, but definitely tell them when you want this, as they pretty much set one up every night for a guest. We did a day trip on a boat to a little fishing town with a short hike to a waterfall which was fun, the crew was excellent, the snorkeling was fine but not exciting. We enjoyed all of the on site activities, spa pods, yoga, everything was very private and very few people anywhere.
I've looked at Naviva, and while the eye wateringly high cost isnt a complete barrier, we're both a little worried that it will be too crunchy and weird for our tastes.

Parent context: Very timely! I am looking for a last minute anti-burnout trip the first week in January. Super tempted by Naviva, but also considering the two Mandarina properties and Susurros. Reply: I think Naviva is the right place. They have a 5th night free, able to make that work?
For those who have been to hotels that offer dining in unique locations, I wouldn’t quite liken it to the magic of Dar Ahlam, but it’s in the same ball park of Huka Lodge and surpasses the private dining experiences at Grand Hotel a Villa Feltrinelli, Amanzoe, Naviva and others.
