personally I read Precious Little Sleep and used the sleeptrain sub despite not wanting to do it originally because I was becoming dangerously sleep deprived and it was putting both our lives at risk .. it helped me a lot

Going to echo another commenter's recommendation of Precious Little Sleep. We were blessed with a decent night sleeper, but it was helpful for naps and for getting him used to falling asleep in his crib

I listened to the audio version of precious little sleep. The book does cover various sleep training methods but also information about naps, schedules, and baby sleep in general. I feel like I learned a lot from it in a way that made sense, so I always suggest it.

I would recommend the book Precious Little Sleep. I was so nervous about sleep, I bought every book. This was the most helpful. It has methods to try before sleep training that focus on getting the baby to soothe themselves.

“The Food Lab” by J. Kenji Lopez Alt

Parent context: The Food Lab by Kenji Lopez-Alt taught me a ton of transferrable skills and amazing recipes. Reply: 100% this. This book won't (just) give you recipes, but goes into the principles of cooking so even if you're working without a recipe you'll know how to pair flavors and seasonings.

The Food Lab is amazing as a simple "textbook" for cooking as well as having many recipes.
