Mupirocin vs Sulfur Ointment

I went to an urgent care and was prescribed Mupirocin ointment. Apply 2x daily with a cotton swab. Went away in 2 weeks.

Mupirocin is also what worked for me, but to be clear it is anti bacterial and not anti fungal. Staph is often involved in these infections, and mupirocin is the most effective treatment for staph.

I tried everything for the angular cheilitis for months and nothing worked except mupirocin which cleared it within days.

Mupirocin works fast. I had it prescribed for some crazy skin infection from a hot tub. By the next day all the painful bits cleared up, and it was just redness and bumps.

I was prescribed mupirocin, and my friend also mentioned colloid bands as a way to prevent scarring. Obviously I also know that once this heals I’ll need to apply sunscreen everyday, and until then I’m keeping nonadherent bandages on it with mupirocin applied.

I’d go for sulfur ointment over anything, if you have a choice

Warm compress is a great suggestion, also sulfur ointment has saved me from some gnarly ones! I apply the De La Cruz stuff and leave on for at least half an hour.

sulfur ointment has been a game changer for blemishes and even ingrown hairs for me. I bet combining it with steam would make it even better, softening sebum/plugs and relaxing pores per se to help the sulfur do its thing. I'm a big believer in sulfur.

Sulfur ointment is lovely, maybe do some barrier repair first to be safe; I like to layer snail mucin under Cicaplast b+, but zinc ointment is great as well. The sulfur is very gentle and works wonders for blemishes.
