Insta360 GO Ultra vs SJCAM SJ30

I don’t have any experience using it for water sports, but the GO Ultra itself is IPX8 waterproof to 10 metres without a case, and the optional Dive Case is rated to 60 metres, so it is certainly designed with water use in mind.

The Insta360 Go Ultra would certainly help you get some amazing video footage. You could use the point of view with a hat clip or a headband or a chest mount. It's a great little camera.

What you want is the Insta360 Go Ultra with the magnetic chest pendant and/or the headband clip.

I bought the Insta360 Go Ultra. ... The ultra is just such an amazing little camera. Both audio and video are excellent and it’s so easy inconvenient to use. The removable camera is in my pocket all day long and I have a successful YouTube channel run entirely from that little camera.

SJCAM SJ30. It’s a bit of an underrated option if you’re mainly after photos but still want something capable for action/FPV later.

The stabilization is solid for walking and biking, the 4K footage looks good in daylight, and the long battery life is a big plus when you’re out all day. I also like the flip screen for quick selfies or family shots, plus the dual-lens setup gives it some flexibility for both regular and low-light footage.

The SJCAM SJ30 looks worth considering for this kind of use—2K/60fps, stabilization, and a waterproof setup should cover motorcycle trips and snorkeling without spending a ton.

I’d add the SJCAM SJ30 to the list if you’re considering something new in that price range. The dual-lens setup, 4K recording, stabilization, and flip screen make it pretty interesting for travel and cycling

I was looking at the same thing for MTB and ended up considering the SJCAM SJ30. Obviously you don’t get the whole “reframe everything later” thing like a 360 cam, but if you just want decent trail footage without spending ages editing every ride, it seems like a pretty practical option.
