Capture One has been great for me also because it runs a lot better than Lightroom on my low end PC.
Their focus detection and "whether eyes are open" is a hit and miss so I don't like to use it - often times I might not need a focus to be on the eye, or eyes open, for example if my model is laughing with her eyes closed - that might still be a great shot.
I used both culling features of Capture one and Lightroom. From both I like the Stacking feature because then it gives me an additional context (software stacks similar pictures or picture series by time).
Unfortunately, when Lightroom isn't considered worth it, CaptureOne is even more expensive (but I like it way better than Lightroom)....
I use Capture One - it's got a different flow from Lightroom, but it works better for my brain. It's available either with a subscription or a permanent license.
