AI summary — not a quote
Amanpuri is widely regarded by luxury travelers as a flagship property and a gold standard for the Aman brand, set on a secluded beach in Phuket. It is frequently cited for its impeccable service, stunning hard product, and romantic atmosphere. While it offers a peaceful and 'chilled out' vibe, some travelers note that the quiet nature of the resort might not suit those looking for high-energy entertainment or stays longer than a week.
Pros
- Unmatched, exceptional service and attention to detail
- Beautiful secluded beach and high-quality 'hard product' (rooms and facilities)
- Strong reputation as a flagship Aman property that sets a high bar for other luxury resorts
- Excellent weather conditions during peak season (January) and late year (November)
Cons
- Limited activities for longer stays (e.g., 10+ nights)
- The peaceful, quiet atmosphere may be too 'chilled' for those seeking a lively New Year's Eve or party scene

Lake Como: Passalacqua, Tremezzo, EDITION, Mandarin Oriental, Villa d'Este. Again, all great hotels, the one you choose will depend on what you're looking for/prioritize.
Re places like Passalacqua, one of the best parts of having a TA is making sure you get the room you want, even if it’s not available. ... I immediately reached out to the property & put the clients on a waitlist for a higher category room. Within 3 days, there was a cancellation and I was able to get my clients into that room.
My top two bucket list hotels right now are Passalacqua and Reschio. ... we absolutely love and appreciate really well done hotels.
Passalacqua is beautiful and the main gardens feel very much like private gardens!
Parent context: When we stayed at Il San Pietro, we stayed at the hotel all day (except for their daily boat), had an apertivo and then would take a water taxi ride into Positano for a later dinner. That is kind of the vibe I am feeling for at least one night here. Reply: I stayed 2 weeks ago, and agree 100% with literally everything u/Then_Garage9776 said (including Passalaqua > ISP).
