Pros

  • later I rode the warpig
  • Second the warpig - I took one to niseko this past season just to see how it’d handle and it was great. Resort and backcountry and it handled fine. The fat nose helps with float tremendously.
  • This feels like a good situation for a Warpig. I think it’s as good as you’ll do for a board that can handle powder and start getting you into the park.
  • Warpig is totally flat and super forgiving.
  • Got my warpig from there 25% off when it’s sold out in my size or full price everywhere else online. Shipped it absurdly fast in nothing but a single layer of cardboard.

Cons

  • Perosnally, i really don't like the warpig. rides like a solid plank of wood - not to mention you'll want more float for the pow
  • I’m also looking at the Warpig for its uniqueness but feel it might not be the best choice.
  • This would be the 3rd season for this Warpig (30-40 days of riding on it) and I keep having this issue with the same repair. ... I do like this board and its still in relatively good condition minus this one blemish.
  • I settled on a warpig or superpig.
  • I'm trying to decide between the warpig, superpig or any other volume shifted board.

Eventually narrowed down to Warpig, Dancehaul, Party Wave, and Gremlin. Peep the flair 👀 Honestly, can’t go wrong with any of these, personal preference.

Parent context: Similar age. I was on a 2002 Lib Tech TRS 163 since it was new. Never really had issues with the board so didn’t upgrade forever. This season I decided to play around with something new. I picked up a Ride Warpig 148 on a whim after a buddy recommended it and I saw it really cheap in a secondhand store. Holy shit, this thing rips so hard and is so much more fun and easy to control than my old board! It actually carves way better too, which makes no sense if you’re used to the old-school paradigm of longer=more-stable. So I’d recommend trying a volume shifted board. The Warpig is really good but there are others like it. Reply: 59 year old and just switched from 20 year old board to a Warpig and OMG that thing carves like a beast and manuevers like a Ferrari. I’m not doing anything crazy anymore, but want to keep up with my grandkids on the mountain and this thing rocks.
