Pros
- Villa Treville’s “pool” In late May, it’s very relaxing and the lounges are spread out for privacy. They have a call button next to you to order drinks and food.
- Treville set a new standard for me in hospitality. It is not walkable but a 5 min boat ride gets you into Positano… and that’s what you want. ... You can buzz in and out at your leisure via boat but really relax at Treville away from it...
- Il San Pietro and Treville are not walkable, they’re outside of town. ... They all have great views, albeit different ones. ... (good news is you can’t go wrong with any of them).
- Parent context: Still not better than ISP, right? Reply: It’s different🤷🏻♀️. There are only 16 rooms and one restaurant at Villa Treville, it feels private and exclusive. ... The views, suites, and ambiance are better too imo. ... Mon...
- It’s the best - they really nail the vibe they’re going for, staying at your mega rich Italian uncle’s villa. ... What you can’t do anywhere is have the house speedboat drop you off in town for dinner. Want to feel like you’re James Bond...
Cons
- Tre Ville is more like a boutique hotel (with limited dining options).
- It is kind of small, doesn’t have many facilities I would expect from a top hotel. Also, F&B is not the best based on what I have heard.

Villa Treville is special. The setting is Franco Zeffirelli’s beautiful old villa perched above the sea a 5 minute boat ride away from Positano. The boat shuttle that operates day and night is free and at your disposal whenever you’d like. ... The room (2 bed Zeffirelli Suite), restaurant, and bar have the kind of views that appear in your dreams years later.
My move is Villa Treville, but only if you get a suite with a pool. Otherwise, Il San Pietro has better rooms. Both hotels have private boats that take you to/from Positano, but Villa Treville’s boat service is better (it’s on demand through WhatsApp, so more flexible and it’s only a 5 minute ride).
Villa Treville is just outside of Positano, so you avoid the daytime crowds... The hotel is very small, very chic, and very Italian with great service.
