Pros

  • If you want something a bit calmer but still nice, Valentin Imperial or Haven Riviera Maya sometimes dip into that range late summer, especially with bigger groups.
  • At Valentin I walked into the martini bar thinking I’d have one drink before bed. The bartender made something so smooth I immediately questioned every life decision that led me to not live at a resort full time
  • Parent context: Would you still pick Valentin even with the outdated rooms? Reply: Yeah I would. The standard rooms look old but they are big and quiet. And if you upgrade, the nicer rooms at Valentin feel like a totally different resort
  • I felt like i got more for what i paid at valentin, especially when i found a good deal and upgraded the room. The food felt better, the pools were more relaxing and the whole vibe matched what I expected.
  • Valentin has a huge calm main pool, the golden pool if you want a quieter vibe, and that river style pool that wraps around some of the buildings.

Cons

  • The weak point is the buffet. breakfast is ok, but dinner can feel bland and repetitive, so i tried to stick to the a la carte places.
  • At Valentin the standard rooms are big and comfortable but they look outdated. The decor and furniture feel old, even though the rooms are clean and quiet.

At valentin, the best meals for me were at the Italian and the French restaurants. The seafood pasta at the Italian place was really good and the duck at the french spot was the kind of dish you remember.

Valentin Imperial is another one people love. more classy, mellow, big beach, definitely not lifestyle but perfect if you want privacy and a relaxed adults-only feel.
