UniFi Protect

Pros

• Been on EA since it came out and 13 cameras here, no issues at all.
• Security should get its own network since unifi protect is the only thing accessing it, and you're accessing the footage through protect anyways.
• Ubiquiti Protect is a fantastic NVR, but it’s notoriously picky about third-party ONVIF cameras.
• Unifi Protect is great! ... First time I've used the Build a Case feature in the Protect software. Cop watched them do it and build the "case" from 3 cameras in 10 minutes and was impressed.
• my wife and I both agree we like the scrubbing, AI detection and overall Unify protect better than the other system (eyemax)

Cons

• Apparently, Protect video streams *between camera and NVR* have not been encrypted all this time. Also of note, the "new" feature is not available for G2 or G3 cameras, even though video streams were encrypted in Protect's predecessor, U...
• deleting clips en masse from the hard drive of NVR is a pain, the select all-scroll up page and delete takes time.
• Unifi Protect needs improvements - Smart detection sucks. I have a bush keep getting flagged as human! And my dog too! - Motion zone is not reliable? And testing the alarm with 'motion' as the selected activity does not send the notifica...
• It requires a piece of software called “UniFi Protect” which is typically run on some sort of UniFi brand router or other applicable.
