AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote

Tudor is generally viewed as a high-tier, prestigious watch brand that offers excellent finishing and movements at a more accessible price point than its parent company, Rolex. It is frequently recommended as a robust 'Go Anywhere, Do Anything' (GADA) or tool watch, though it faces criticism for its polarizing design elements and marketing identity.

Pros

  • High-quality finishing and superior bracelets compared to competitors at similar price points.
  • Strong movements and overall build quality that justify its position in a higher tier of luxury watches.
  • Excellent 'GADA' (Go Anywhere, Do Anything) versatility, particularly with models like the Black Bay and Pelagos.
  • Good availability and value in the pre-owned market.

Cons

  • Polarizing design elements, specifically the 'chunky' snowflake hour hand and the current shield logo.
  • Marketing slogans are frequently described as 'cringe,' generic, or ill-fitting for the brand's heritage.
  • Perceived by some as a 'safe' or 'not daring' brand compared to more experimental manufacturers.
  • Some models notably lack a date complication, which is a drawback for certain users.

Caveats

  • A significant report of poor service experience where a simple bezel replacement allegedly resulted in mechanical issues (clicking noise and reduced power reserve).
  • Newer models are sometimes described as bulky; older models may be preferred for those with smaller wrists.
  • The brand's identity is often compared to Rolex, leading to mixed feelings about its independence and prestige.

Best for

  • Buyers looking for a prestigious tool watch without the Rolex price tag.
  • Enthusiasts seeking a high-quality daily wearer with excellent bracelet construction.
  • Those interested in the pre-owned luxury watch market.

Avoid if

  • You find the 'snowflake' hour hand or the shield logo aesthetically off-putting.
  • You prefer watches with a date complication on all models.
  • You are looking for a brand that takes significant avant-garde design risks.

Nice Tudor.

I feel completely let down by Tudor’s service and wanted to share my experience so others are aware. I recently sent my watch in for a simple partial service (bezel replacement), and when it came back, it was not in the same condition. The watch now makes a strange clicking noise when winding, and the power reserve lasts only a few hours.

This manifests Tudor as the greatest watch brand currently (for my taste) and I don't even have a Tudor yet

Throw them all away besides the G-Shock and save up for a Tudor

crowned Tudor as “definitely not jealous of Rolex,”

Yeah, also own a Tudor and love the watch. Despise the slogan though. It sounds like the title of a cheesy end-credits power ballad from a forgotten ‘80s action movie.

I own a Tudor and I absolutely hate that slogan. It’s so fucking generic.

Such a cringe tagline. Might work for Garmin or G-Shock, but definitely not Tudor.

Its literally one of the least daring brands possible even though they're nice looking

I know it’s petty but the chunky hour hand on the Tudor is off putting. I wish I could get over it for some reason I can’t.
