Trek FX

Trek FX, Cannondale quick , specialized sirrus.

Look for a hydrid bike like the Trek FX, Specialized Sirrus or Giant Escape. They’re lightweight (not as light as road bikes, but lighter than a mountain bike), relatively inexpensive when bought secondhand, and usually equipped with a wide gear range for going fast on flats and climbing hills easily.

Hybrid bike would be the usual recomendation, they normally start around $500. Trek FX, Specialized Sirrus, Giant Escape etc.

Anything you can get from a good local bike store will be great. Trek FX, Specialized Sirrus, Liv Alight, there's loads of manufacturers you might come across

I’d suggest starting with an aluminium frame hybrid! Something like the cannondale quick, trek fx, rei cty line or similar. Comfortable, light and durable.

Maybe just a hybrid/city bike? Like the Specialized Sirrus or Trek FX.

A basic hybrid like the Trek FX would probably be good. Not only is it good for learning but it's a pretty good bike for getting around.

In terms of flat bar bikes, entry level hybrids are probably fine. Trek FX, Specialized Sirrus, Cannondale Quick, Kona Dew etc.

If you want to stick to brand names you can get from your local bike store, Trek FX, Specialized Sirrus, Liv Alight.

otherwise a flat bar hybrid like a trek fx or specialized sirrus would also work well.
