I think C&J‘s solework is rather disappointing for the price, especially when you compare it to cheaper brands like TLB Mallorca, Meermin Maestro or even similarly priced like Paul Sargent.

Maybe look into C&J or other European shoemakers like Carmina, TLB Mallorca and so on..

You can find similar stuff of better quality at Crockett & Jones, Carmina or TLB Mallorca, for example.

Parent context: Hmm I own shoes from CJ, TLB Mallorca, Skolyx, and Vass so I can only speak for those. I must say the TLB Mallorca shoes offer better craftsmanship (slimmer waist, higher spi, better lasted) compared to the CJs I own, but I can't give a long-term review, so how does the lining hold up.
