Reddit take

Not enough linked mention summaries yet; the source excerpts below are the evidence.

Pros

  • tasks for todos in specific courses.
  • I use Tasks and Simple Mentions in addition in my Projects Vault, as I can use those for querying/filtering as well. Helps me keep relatively on top of things.
  • I use Tasks for processing. I created specific task types and quarries for them. It's especially helpful for commonplace book stuff since I like to let that information settle before adding it to a more permanent location.
  • I used to play around with plugins a lot but after the first year or so I removed everything except for Templater, Tasks (to query all the checkboxes in one place) and a theme.
  • Tasks - still using but connected with ultimate Todoist sync. All tasks input into Obsidian will flow into Todoist

Cons

  • I've tried Google keep and tasks.org but both seem to be really unreliable. ... Tasks.org sometimes does but often way too late - like hours later.
  • Current plugin: Templar, dataview, Meta Bind, Tasks
  • can't interact with other popular automation plugins (Dataview, Templator, Quick Add, Tasks).

Daily-note + tags: (inline tags for topics and frontmatter for note type: project, source, etc..) + a periodic review process, mine is daily and weekly + plugins: dataview & tasks

I handle the task metadata via the "Tasks" plugin.
