Didn’t much care for Summer of Night and didn’t read its sequel.
Summer of Night is very much a kids on bikes type story. When I was reading it, I thought Simmons must have wanted to write his own IT. Which was fine by me, actually.
I've been chasing the high I get from reading books such as Revival, It, 112263, Swan Song, A Boys Life, Summer of Night, King Sorrow.
I DNF Summer of Night because of this and that is his shortest book
I loved it. One of the few books that made me cry.
I don't think that it destroys the book (it's actually part of what makes it so memorable, I think.) ... I do overall think it's very much worth continuing to the end.
I loved this book and the follow ups great characters and well written by a great Author.
It’s actually a bit slower than I expected it to be, but still enjoyable. ... I’m a bit mad that they’re gone and bummed out that I won’t get to read them anymore. All of that is well and good, but ultimately it kinda felt like a cheap trick
Summer of Night by Dan Simmons and Boy’s Life by Robert McCammon have that vibe I think.
I really enjoyed this one! Haven't read anything exactly like it, but I've definitely caught some similar vibes in ... Summer of Night by Dan Simmons
