Subaru Impreza

Pros

• I would be looking at a Subaru Impreza, Forester or outback with a manual transmission.
• More trustworthy: Toyota Corolla (if you can find one), Mazda 3, Mazda CX-30 (little SUV/hatch version of Mazda 3), Subaru Impreza, Subaru Crosstrek (little SUV/hatch version of Impreza).
• Subaru Impreza are cheap and reliable. I have 2017 with almost 200k and I have done absolutely nothing major to it for repairs.
• leasing a new car is always an option as well, especially something like a Subaru Impreza, Hyundai Sante Fe, or Mazda CX-50 / CX-30.
• a Subaru Impreza paid 1800 to teach son to drive a manual transmission

Cons

• I like Subaru but an Impreza with almost 200k miles is going to need some work sooner later, too
• I traded in my Subaru Impreza the week I got back, and bought an Encore.
