Subaru BRZ

Pros

• Another example is the MSRP of the Subaru BRZ and Toyota GR86. These cars are fully built in Japan for all markets. Canada isn't subject to tariffs so they start around $36k here.
• Nothing beats Toyobaru on driving pleasure and daily practicality.
• BRZ / 86 are similar. Would be good choice for entry car.
• Easily the BRZ. Longevity, customization, fun, quality.
• If a Miata just isn't your thing then I'd say go for the BRZ. It solves many if the potential issues that people might have with a Miata. More power, more space, not a convertible.

Cons

• A Subaru BRZ would also be pretty great, and I haven't ruled it out completely, but I'm looking for *slightly* less absurd back seats, and I'm 6' 4" so even the front seats are a bit of a squeeze.
• I recently switched from a BMW to a Subaru BRZ to save money... reaching a point where replacing a lightbulb is this ridiculous, idk just hit me to a point where I might be done with car enthusiasm
• Go for GTI, 86/BRZ are slow
• The GR/BRZ automatic takes a lot of joy from the car. The automatic with them is super slow and sluggy compared to double clutch from GTi
• daily-drove a BRZ for 5 years. If you’re looking for comfort, look elsewhere. It’s a great car, but it’s a simple and loud sports car.
