  • I buy the plain chrome Stanley. If you lose it, buy another one. Lose that one? Buy another one.
  • I have a $10 fake Stanley from hobby lobby. Keeps ice in my cup all day in my car on a summer day in Minnesota, so I have to assume its thermal abilities are pretty great. Doesn't leak at all.
  • They are good enough that they (probably) won't break on you under normal use, but even if one does break or goes missing, then it is not like it is going to cost an arm and a leg to replace, and they are common enough that you can find...
  • some of Stanley’s fixed‑handle classics are still decent.

Cons

  • Everything I read says I should find and restore a hundred year old Stanley or I should buy a $300 new one. Neither of those are great for me at this time.
  • Parent context: Probably Stanley. Reply: Never had an issue with their USA made handles, but some stuff from over seas the rubber breaks loose.
  • Bosch Professional (blue) over stanley every single day of the week
  • Bosch, every time vs Stanley anything
  • Stanley is not what it used to be.

Reply: Thank you for the details! I really think I'll get a stainless model, but those brands you recommended are not sold in Brazil or are either too expensive here, like double the price of that Stanley model.

They are good enough that they (probably) won't break on you under normal use, but even if one does break or goes missing, then it is not like it is going to cost an arm and a leg to replace, and they are common enough that you can find matching pieces being sold individually

These Stanley's are BIFL. Not like the popular straw Stanley's.

I’m certain that Stanley has something that will fit your needs. I have 8-10 of their products for various uses and they are all the perfect iteration of that device.

(I usually hang it from my Stanley but it can be clipped on a bag or pocket or whatever of course).
