I found it annoying. Everything about it went too far. If you already don't like it, stop. It doesn't get better.

I wasn't a fan. I tried reading it twice, and got further the second time, but gave up. The melodrama was okay, but the flaunting of safety protocols in order to feed some obsession made me mad especially because the main character's obsession is one of my anxiety triggers.

No they’re super annoying the whole time. It just seems incredibly unrealistic that these people are allowed to all literally have sex with each other while they’re isolated scientists in the desert or whatever. One of the stupidest books I’ve ever read, honestly.

The only horror aspects i remember were body horror to drive the real plot: foreplay smut that left me fairly dissapointed. I've heard some people liked it, but I personally wouldn't reccomend it. If you don't like it so far, I don't recall any major turning points that will redeem it for you.

So I started this one last night and ohhhh, how I am struggling! I'm only a bit of the way in, but the characters are insufferable! I can't believe a research facility would employ such whiny, self-absorbed, immature, unprofessional people.
