Pros

  • I've happily been using Q-Symphony because it improves the dialogue at low volume due to my low profile TV stand. The soundbar is only 20 inches from the floor and the added TV speakers somewhat fixed that.
  • yes def do q symphony.
  • I have an S90C77" and an HW-Q990C, and I try to turn them on or off almost every day, but they always stick with Q-Symphony on. It has much better surround bubble for me.
  • And the Q-symphony change everything, makes dialogue 100x more clear
  • But to comment on the Q symphony: I do appreciate this feature. ... The Q symphony however adds a more subtle layer of mids, for me right in the vocal spectrum sweet spot. Especially with turning on the Spacefit feature on the soundbar f...

Cons

  • I used Q Symphony for some time but then realized that there was an echo in voices. I couldn’t unhear it so i dropped the Q Symphony and have been living happily since.
  • Q symphony is great when it works. Problem is when you’re using multiple hdmi ports at the same time (ps5, Xbox, and the hdmi to the soundbar) it causes some kind of crash that boot loops the system.
  • Q Symphony is bad. I tried it a lot but it’s just not accurate at all for channel levels. You’ll get weak rear levels, way too heavily weighted front soundstage. The bass gets neutered as well. All around, poor choice to leave it on.
  • I have run into a similar problem and decided to ditch Q-symphony entirely. It does not actually add as much as you think and it actually can make the sound quality worse and create an echo effect.
  • Q Symphony is not worth losing anything important to you. It’s better with the H TVs but still not a feature that’s worth it

I've also tested Q990H soundbar with a Samsung TV for Q-Symphony, and the feature is abit hit and miss. You gain some clarity for dialogues, but they're coming from the TV, instead of front and center like bar only.
