Pros

  • Not Caribbean but check out rosewood mandarina. They have polo fields and also whales during season. Each room has plunge pool.
  • Rosewood beat expectations. Service is friendly and genuinely trying, with good recovery when things go wrong, plus solid food. A few rough edges, but overall it feels like the property is ramping up well and I’d happily go back.
  • Would add the newly opened Rosewood Mandarina for your consideration. Gorgeous property and much more navigable than OO
  • Id do Rosewood Mandarina or FS Punta Mita or las ventanas
  • Rosewood Mandarina better if you want easy beach access (but with a week you could split time between the two).

Cons

  • Lovely but doesn’t say Mexico to me. Could easily be in SE Asia. That’s an issue with many of the newer luxe venues in Mexico which offer vanilla habitats, apart from the tequila of course.
  • The Rosewood has less going on than O&O but you can shuttle back and forth
  • The hard product is definitely 10/10. The views from our room were 20/10. ... Service is definitely still finding its way. ... Overall, the resort is still finding its personality and sense of place imo.

The Rosewood is better if you want beachfront luxury and are ok with being a part of their growth process. The Rosewood has bikes and is walkable.

But it’s a gorgeous view at Rosewood even with stronger waves.
