I have both and prefer the Katanas. I would say it would depend on your riding style, skill level, where you are riding and the conditions you are riding to make it worth it.

Used the “lifetime” warranty once or twice before they stopped supporting my original purchase and was happy with the customer service.
Have a pair of katanas. No longer my daily riders but they are very very responsive and (too imo) customizable.
More modern bindings, I would look at the Rome Katanas, or Union Force
You can use regular bindings on the channel system. I have Rome katanas on a Burton shortstop
