- I would say the part that it lacks is grammar. You learn many set phrases and whatnot, but you don't actually learn to conjugate verbs or decline nouns/adjectives on your own to form your own sentences.

If your library has Libby or Hoopla, there's a really good chance you can borrow Pimsleur or Innovative Language courses from the ebook collection
Pimsleur is pretty decent as a starting point. I wouldn't say that it lacks in vocabulary, it gets you a good solid foundation that you can then build upon yourself.
