Off Season

I love it. Ketchum is a better writer than I think he has the reputation for. Way better than your typical extreme horror author.

I picked this one up as a result of recs here and loved it. I started reading it and all of a sudden it just literally took off. It was a pretty wild ride.

The story itself is solid, very well paced and the violence/gore ramps up nicely. Once I started it I couldn't put it down.

Great book. Bleak, hardcore. Yes I agree it does give off Hills have eye vibes. Highly recommend.

If gore and violence is your thing, Off Season is your nighttime audiobook listen. Read by the author, Jack Ketchum’s book is both graphic and well-written. It also contains the most dread-inducing scenes I’ve ever read, hands down, it stays with me all these years later.
