Not enough linked mention summaries yet; the source excerpts below are the evidence.

Pros

  • Oakley has always been quality and priced accordingly
  • I’ve obviously been looking myself and have soon some mid end oakleys and smith goggles
  • Goggles: Something from Oakley
  • Oakley is the indisputable goat for sports lens clarity. You can make an argument for many other brands frames but Oakley’s tenure for lens R&D is 50 years and millions of dollars.
  • Oakley make some metal frame styles - and their black iridium lens is dark - other than the really dark one that I think is only available in ski goggles.

Cons

  • Oakley is incredibly overpriced. Yesterday during Black Friday I visited a fashion outlet with a bunch of different ski worthy shops. Went into Oakley out of curiosity because I needed ski goggles and a jacket. Long story short: Plast...

  • All of them are so curved there’s a gap on my forehead/nose (Oakley, Smith, 100%).

Oakley is incredibly overpriced. Yesterday during Black Friday I visited a fashion outlet with a bunch of different ski worthy shops. Went into Oakley out of curiosity because I needed ski goggles and a jacket. Long story short: Plastic goggles with foam for 150€ + 30% bf discount 115€ which similar once are 70€ online. No thank you. Jackets were 200€+ for not even fully waterproof (10.000mm water resistance which is quite ass for a shell(?) jacket.

Most of the time we just use isopropyl(clean and buy it in volume) to clean the lenses, BUT and a very important BUT, some frames can not handle that and will break. Oakley and Rayban are the worst when it comes to that. They will literally crack from a very minimum amount of droplets.
