Pros
- I am obsessed with this book. Give it a chance!
- It's a very distinct narrative voice, let it wash over you. I want to reassure you that while it feels odd, the plot itself is fairly traditionally structured. It gets easy to follow as you get more accustomed to how the main character t...
- I thought it was very good and found the ending devastating. I can imagine it being polarizing, though.
Cons
- I enjoyed most of the book. I really liked the voice of the main character, and the portrayals of family dynamics. Like others on here, I didn’t care for the ending as much. It felt rushed and too easily resolved (and deflates a lot of t...
- To me, the answer was not worth the slog to get there. If you're not enjoying it so far, I don't think anything in that story will change your mind. I know lots of people like this book, but it's not the kind of horror I enjoy. This felt...
- I read it earlier this year, and I wasn't a fan of the way the story wrapped up. It also dragged a lot. The main character was interesting, but without spoiling anything, the plot feels like a bait and switch in a lame way, not an intere...
- I pushed through it, but that was my lowest-rated book this year. I didn’t have a good time reading it, and the characters/ending didn’t really make up for that.
- Yeah, I know it landed for others, but for me it was a big whiff.

To me, the answer was not worth the slog to get there. If you're not enjoying it so far, I don't think anything in that story will change your mind. I know lots of people like this book, but it's not the kind of horror I enjoy. This felt more like a family drama.
I read it earlier this year, and I wasn't a fan of the way the story wrapped up. It also dragged a lot. The main character was interesting, but without spoiling anything, the plot feels like a bait and switch in a lame way, not an interesting way. Not my cup of tea.

The ending of this one got a literal, out loud OH, COME ON from me
It's a very distinct narrative voice, let it wash over you. I want to reassure you that while it feels odd, the plot itself is fairly traditionally structured. It gets easy to follow as you get more accustomed to how the main character thinks / talks.
I’m having a bit of a tough time with it so far.
I thought it was very good and found the ending devastating. I can imagine it being polarizing, though.
