If you’re not planning to drive a lot - go for pajero. They are not fuel efficient, but reliable and you can get clean one for your budget.
Then after around 2 months, while scrolling fb marketplace, i see that same pajero listed again for around 12k less and he mentioned "engine damage" clearly this time.
I also had a Pajero in the past and their service + workshop was terrible.
