Reddit take

AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote

The Mazda CX-90 is frequently recommended for its premium interior, smooth 3.3L Turbo inline-six engine, and superior driving dynamics compared to other three-row SUVs. However, it is a polarizing choice due to its status as a new platform, with many users expressing concerns over its long-term reliability and 'teething issues' typical of first-generation models.

Pros

  • High-quality interior that rivals luxury brands.
  • Engaging driving dynamics and performance from the 3.3L Turbo I6 engine.
  • Excellent safety ratings and a comprehensive feature set.
  • Offers a luxury vehicle feel at a more affordable price point than European competitors.

Cons

  • Concerns regarding reliability and unproven powertrains.
  • Inefficient interior packaging; some find it feels large to drive but small inside.
  • History of early-model recalls and 'teething issues' for both PHEV and MHEV variants.
  • Reported 'unwieldy' handling compared to minivans like the Honda Odyssey.

Caveats

  • Reliability reports are mixed, with some users experiencing significant issues (e.g., lemon law buybacks) while others report no problems.
  • Many global recalls were specific to the PHEV version, which may not apply to all markets.

Best for

  • Drivers seeking a luxury-tier cabin and performance without paying luxury brand premiums.
  • Those who prioritize engine smoothness and driving engagement in a family vehicle.

Avoid if

  • Maximum interior passenger and cargo space efficiency is your primary concern.
  • You prefer a vehicle with a long, proven track record of mechanical reliability.

This summary uses balanced time weighting with about a 6-month half-life. The evidence is older, with a median source age of approximately 384 days, which may not reflect the most recent software updates or reliability improvements for this relatively new model.

However, for the money in UAE it is the best new car you can buy, imho.

I bought CX90 because for 200k this is the only car that was big enough and had a 6 cylinder engine.

The new one looks fab and offers a lot of the latest and greatest in terms of tech. But it’s brand new and it’s bound to have some teething issues. We’ve seen that with the CX-60 and CX-90.

Between this 4 runner and a few newer options with less mileage (Mazda CX-90 or Honda CR-V)

On the other hand, just doing a quick search for problems with the CX-90, they have a bunch of random issues. Certainly a lot more complaints than the Telluride/Palisade. However, it's a new car and likely needs some stuff to be worked out. So I don't hate it.

I wanted to like the CX-90 so much, but its size simply felt unwieldy in comparison to the Odyssey. It felt bigger while driving, while simultaneously feeling much smaller inside.

This is why the CX-90 is down 58% and the CX-70 down 86% during the same month versus last year.

Grab a Mazda CX-90. They're wonderful cars, and have good space too.
