Lizard island is fantastic, can’t recommend it enough
originally my fiance’ and I really liked the idea of Australia and were looking at do a dual stay at Souther Ocean Lodge and Lizard Island. However, we’ve seen some reviews that for the price the hospitality isn’t what it could be in other places.

The hot items were not impressive or executed well (eggs constantly being over cooked). This was really strange because the rest of the food was fantastic.

I saw tons of the typical reef fish, also saw some very large sun fish type fish, juvenile barracuda, nurse sharks and almost shit myself when I saw a pretty large reef shark behind me while I was stupidly snorkeling by myself. ... I can't recommend Lizard Island enough - even if I have shark PTSD.
Lizard Island is also incredible. Food is great etc.
All 3 of those lodges are AMAZING. Bc of the time of year I would lean towards Lizard Island though.
Lizard Island is for swimming/beaches, romance (although I went with my mother), relaxing. You can even get your own little boat to go to a remote island!
